Service, Speaking, and Showing Up
“My life has been shaped by overcoming hardship, from financial instability and years without a relationship with my father to canceled internships and recovering from orthopedic surgeries. These experiences taught me that life is tough.
My goal is to inspire people to never give up on themselves and always chase their goals. My passion for community building stems from a deep belief in creating a better future for others. I believe that:
Student-athletes can can apply their discipline from sports to their education and careers
Underprivileged youth deserve a chance to show the world what they are capable of
The youth has a better chance of success when they have healthy and supportive relationships with their parents
This is the message I want to share and the community I want to build.”

President - Longhorn Wrestling Team
Enrique joined the Longhorn Wrestling Team his freshman year of college in the fall of 2018 and was named the Vice President. During his first year, practices only had a small group of people. There were consistently only four to five people in the mat room every day. The Team qualified three wrestlers for the NCWA National Tournament his freshman year.
Enrique became the President of the Longhorn Wrestling Team his sophomore year and would remain President for three years until he graduated in the summer of 2022. He grew the team from three to eight NCWA National Qualifiers from his freshman to senior years. He also increased Team membership from five members to 40 members, including both competitive and non-competitive members.
He is proud to have led the Longhorn Wrestling Team for four years and is grateful to have given the opportunity for those at the University of Texas to continue wrestling after high school.
